2008

Well… mostly the end. I still have some old photos to upload.

By anyway, I’m sitting here as 2008 ends and 2009 begins. And I’m working on a pro bono ad. My husband is asleep—he went to bed hours ago. I wish I could say that at the very least I was listening to some sort of music… I meant to go get my headphones, but got drawn up by being focused on the design—I was in the zone, so to speak.

I bought a card to send to the people with whom I worked for four days in New Mexico, and who may be my future employers. I bought it to thank them for the opportunity, to tell them how nice it was to meet them, and to wish them a happy and prosperous new year. Here’s what it says:

Your work is to discover your work and then, with all your heart, give yourself to it.

-Buddha

Is that bad or good? I guess it depends on the context and your frame of mind.

It’s been a pleasure even though I haven’t been as great with this as I had expected or as I had wanted, and I apologize for that. At least it’s a new year, and we all can start from scratch.
