, , the tea book

This is a book I made last year for a bookbinding class. The requirement was that it had to be an altered book, or it had to be made using entirely found materials.

Now, I drink a lot of tea, and while mulling this project over some, it occurred to me that the tabs on the tops of tea bags are already folded into little pages for me. So I made a “tea-book”. It’s a coptic book, where the spine is left open. The stitching and the length causes the book to spiral easily. It ended up being pretty sculptural.
