| entertainment, people | I hate the uptown art fair |

Yesterday, I left early and arrived home to no parking spots due to the Uptown Art Fair. So I waited, and waited and waited. Finally not only did a space arrive, but also my new neighbors, so we chatted, drank, and bitched about the art fair in the parking lot. At one point champagne was opened and we toasted my arrival. I live in a building with two sweet culinary gays (who make amazing sorbet), a mexican jew (who is leaving next week for a trip to Taiwan and Japan – I’m jealous), and a couple (who were mostly absent from the festivities having escaped for the weekend) I’m also escaping for the weekend for a reunion with puppies who have moved away and are back for the weekend in Madison. |

The Uptown Art Fair raises money for security in the local Uptown area. I would be happy your streets are safe. So stop complaining and move somewhere else.

I was wondering how long it was going to take for me to get hate comments. I contemplated changing my title in order to avoid it, but in the end I decided against it. So, bring on the hate comments and I will continue to hate on the Uptown Art Fair. And for the record, if the Uptown Art Fair was more like the Powederhorn one, perhaps I wouldn't hate it so much.

typical response for somebody who sees the immediate inconvience, rather than the bigger picture
