Jim, my car, hit 99,999 today, and then 100,000. (And I almost crashed him trying to take a picture of it, which I did, although obviously it’s not posted here) I’ve had him since 57,000. We’ve been all over the country together, well, the western side at least. From Minnesota to California and back again. Up dirt roads into the mountains that no little corolla should ever go on. I’m not very good to him. I drive him hard and his engine doesn’t look anything like it did when I bought him from the “cheap dealership”. The guy who sold him to me informed me that Jim’s previous owners had just upgraded to a BMW. Good for them and good for me because now I have Jim. He’s a bit more scratched, broken, battered and rusted than he was when I drove him off the lot three and a half years ago, but his sunroof still works and I can crank the radio loud and just drive. And that, is a wonderful thing. |
