Busy day.

Today I reclaimed my apartment from the vines of neglect that have been growing over the past few weeks. Although I enjoy my job I hate how it has a tendency to throw me into a state of zombie where I do nothing other than drop my stuff at the entry and fall into bed.

I’m attempting to participate in the Kitchen Cure , so having a chance to clean and use my kitchen today was great. I cleaned, I organized, then I stocked up on all sorts of delicious goodness.

It’s good to cook in my kitchen again. It’s not the prettiest or the nicest, but it’s functional and there’s enough room to spread out and make a mess. Tonight I made Ca Ri Ga, a vietnamese yellow curry and some crisp and yummy Sichuan Cucumbers. I love making cucumber salads when I’m eating yellow curry. The cool crunch against the curry is yummy.

We ate by candlelight because dinner finished cooking just at 8:00pm. Earth Hour. It was fun to do something different and it was romantic to eat by candlelight. So quiet too. I always have music or the TV on but it was just me and the boy and whatever inane chatter we had for amusement.

The lights are back on now, but that was an interesting excersize and I’m happy my skeptical boy was good enough to humor me and eat in almost complete darkness.
